Dr Vinti Davar, Professor (retd), Ex-Chairperson BSc Home Science (University Topper), MSc (Food and Nutrition), PhDWell-versed Clinical Dietician and Senior Nutritionist, served as Head of the Department and Professor in reputed North India State University with a teaching experience of 38 years. The total teaching and research focus has been on clinical nutrition, dietetics, diet therapy, Nutrition in life cycle, and Food Service Management in Hospitals and Hotels.It is very easy to take our diet for granted. We know we need to eat to survive, but as we have a habit consisting of the typical routine of three meals a day, we do not pay much attention. We are aware that some foods are better for us than others and we understand that eating junk food can cause health problems, but because of casual approach we provide to the way we handle food, we do not really go down and think deeply about it. Unfortunately, it's a big mistake. If we take some time to really think about why we should or should not eat a particular food, we will appreciate the consequences, both good and bad, of the act.
